Regaining Momentum: Hey! You! WAKE UP!
“As Tex and Lefty ambled into the gulch, a stillness filled the air.
‘Sure, it quiet round these parts,’ said Lefty as he pulled the salt crusted bandana from around his neck.
‘Yeah, too quiet,’ said Tex as he look suspiciously around them.
So, write something already!”
(a comment left by Reg of Elemental Truths)
“What, huh?” sputtered a bleary eyed MT. “Can’t a bag-lady get some sleep around here? And *WHY* are there sweaty cowboys poking at me with an ink pen???”
“Oh, its you, Reg. Hi. Is that Galba behind you over there? I’m surprised Jackie isn’t here rattling pompoms at me.
And.. egads! There’s all the new folks from the Personal Development list, watching my silence… erm… Hi there. Forgive the mussed up hair, please. I don’t always look like this; I’m usually so much more put together. (Ok, I’m not.. but it sounds good doesn’t it)
I suppose you all want to know what happened to cause this silence to descend upon Tweaksville? Surely some Devastating Tragedy has occured? Or maybe a Project-Of-Immense-Proportions-And-Profit appeared upon the scene, requiring that I sacrifice MindTweaks for some higher purpose?
Well, no, not really.
It’s far simpler and less impressive than that.
I got sick. It was just a cold. (Hey, don’t look at me that way, it was a BAD cold!) But somewhere in my feverish, antihistimine-induced stupor, I lost momentum.
In the jargon of plate-spinning, the china crashed to the floor, shattering in a million pieces. I apparently decided to take a nap on the shards, and found it surprisingly comfortable.
Still, one mustn’t spend ones life napping on broken pottery; it just isn’t seemly. So here I am, taking one last swig of cough syrup, surveying the damage.
The problem, of course, is that I lost momentum. My brain got out of the habit of blogging, the circuits stopped flowing, and getting started again became a daunting task. I needed to write something “worthy”, something to grab folks and make them remark upon my brilliance. Something that made the wait worth it. Something BIG, and impressive.
But to write something BIG and impressive, I’d have to actually WRITE. And writing takes momentum. And momentum takes… movement.
That’s it.
No big secret, just.. movement.
Ok, ok, I’m moving. My hands are on the keyboard, my fingers are flexing, and almost coherent thoughts are forming.
We have achieved momentum!!

Welcome back from the land of Nod.
And Yippie Ki-Yay Mind-Tweaker!
Thanks…. Do I know how to cowboy up, or what? YeeHAW!
Howdy stranger! Welcome back.
*tossing pom-poms in the air* Hooray for momentum!
Although, I can’t do a back-flip and dance around because I might twist an ankle or break a toe nail.
Have a wonderful and creative day!
aaaaaaaannnnnnnnndddddd?
@ Reg: Whaaaa??? Can’t a girl hit the snooze button around here??
(Unfortunately, it’s likely to stay slow for a bit, as this isn’t the only place I am playing catchup in. Feel free to nudge, though, if the mood strikes you — it does make me smile!)
@Jackie Backflips or not, welcome back to you too, MsRahRah!!!
Thanks M.T.
Hope you have a fabulous weekend and are able to get caught up in the areas that are most important.
